Following a major outage of Microsoft’s services due to a cybersecurity update from CrowdStrike, Google’s YouTube has also experienced downtime across multiple regions, particularly in India.
According to Downdetector, reports of YouTube outages have surfaced from major Indian cities, including New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Pune. Additionally, users from Australia, the UK, and the US have also reported similar issues.
Notably, both YouTube and YouTube Studio—the platform’s creator suite—appear to be affected simultaneously.
Downdetector data suggests that the issue began at approximately 1:41 PM IST, with reports peaking at 136 cases at the time of writing.
In response to user concerns, Team YouTube acknowledged the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating that they are investigating the problem.
The exact cause of the outage remains unclear, but the tech giant is actively working to restore services as soon as possible.
